First Course:

GemFire Administration Training

Overview

This course is designed to provide training in the installation, configuration and management of Pivotal GemFire. Students will learn how to define configurations based on desired topologies and region requirements, as well as how to manage a running Pivotal GemFire cluster. This course will provide hands-on experience with defining different cluster configurations, stopping and starting members, troubleshooting problems and more. This three day course is designed to provide the necessary combination of technical concepts and hands-on experience to enable administrators to effectively manage their deployments.

First Course:

Pivotal Cloud Foundry Developer Training

Overview

This course provides students with the concepts and experience needed to work with and deploy applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Students will gain experience in pushing apps to Cloud Foundry, accessing logs, and scaling.

Students will explore topics directly related to the design and running of cloud-native applications, including microservice architectures, blue-green deployments, and continuous delivery.

This course prepares students for the Cloud Foundry Foundation Developer certification exam.


Certification:

Pivotal Cloud Foundry Administrator Certification

The Pivotal Cloud Foundry Administrator Exam is designed to test and validate your understanding of and familiarity with:

  • Elastic Runtime architecture and how it impacts developers
  • Installing, backing up, restoring, and upgrading Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Creating users and assigning roles
  • Managing org and space quotas
  • Monitoring Pivotal Cloud Foundry with component logs and metrics
  • Using BOSH to troubleshoot Pivotal Cloud Foundry installation
  • Using BOSH to create and deploy a release
  • Understanding capacity planning and multi-site deployments

Overview

This course provides administrators with the necessary background to install and maintain the Greenplum database. Students will learn the essential skills required to use the Greenplum database system. The course explores fundamental concepts using the psql CLI, DDL, DML, and DQL, data loading, backup and restore, data modeling, as well as some performance tuning strategies.

GemFire Developer Training

Overview

This course teaches students how to install, configure and monitor Pivotal GemFire applications. The course begins with Pivotal GemFire installation and general configuration. It continues with using the Pivotal GemFire APIs to develop Java applications. The course also delves into more advanced deployment strategies and advanced configuration.

First Course:

Overview

On completion, participants will have a foundation for creating enterprise-ready applications.

This course prepares students for the Spring Professional certification exam. Exams sold separately.

Spring Professional Certification

The Spring Professional certification exam is designed to test and validate your understanding of and familiarity with:

  • Container basics
  • Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP)
  • Data access and transactions
  • Spring model-view-controller (MVC)

Second Course:

Spring Boot Developer Training

Overview

This course teaches developers how to create enterprise-ready applications using Spring Boot. The course explores major features of Spring Boot, including auto-configuration, data access, Actuator, and more.

First Course:

Pivotal Greenplum Developer Training

Overview

This course provides students with the necessary background to take advantage of Pivotal Greenplum. Students are introduced to fundamental concepts using the psql CLI; DDL, DML, and DQL; data loading strategies; data modeling, as well as some performance tuning strategies. Students will also learn details of the OLAP capabilities of Pivotal Greenplum.
