Purchasing a Class

How can I register for a particular course?

If you would like to register for yourself or for a group of 2-5 people, please see the Courses tab. Once you have found the training class of your choice, click the View Schedule button to start the registration process.

If you would like to register for a group of 6 people or more, please send a message to education@pivotal.io so we can better address your group's onsite training needs.




Which methods of payment do you accept (outside of North America)?

All payments must be made at least 10 business days prior to the start of the class.

Payment methods outside of North America may include purchase orders, cheque requests, bank wire transfers, payment through reseller, and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa only). Please note that not all payment methods are available in all countries.

All payments must be made at least 10 business days before the start of the class.

Payment methods within North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico) include purchase order, bank wire transfer, payment through reseller, and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa only).




Can I swap / change enrollments with a different student?

We understand that plans sometimes changes. If you need to transfer your enrollment to another student, please contact your education representative or education@pivotal.io as soon as possible.

Onsite Training

What can I expect from an onsite class?

Students will work in teams of two using a variety of remote access technologies.

Onsite students can expect to spend 50% of their class time in lecture and 50% of the time working through labs. Approximately half of the labs that will be provided are considered "optional". Even so, the class is generally tight from a scheduling standpoint.

Lunch will be served onsite each day of the class. Breakfast and an afternoon snack may also be available. Please contact an education representative or education@pivotal.io if you have any specific dietary needs.

The above applies only to those classes run by Pivotal. Classes run by partners are subject to the partner’s rules and capabilities.

Certification

Who is eligible to take a Pivotal certification exam?

Our certification exams are available to administrators, developers, architects, data scientists/analysts and other professionals who desire to prove their proficiency in a given area. We offer a range of courses to help you prepare you for our certification exams. However, you may purchase and sit for a certification exam any time you like.




How do I register for a Pivotal certification exam?

You can purchase your exam at pivotal.io/training/certification. You will receive registration instructions via email when you purchase your exam. Please look for an email with the subject line, "Pivotal Academy: Exam Enrollment." This email provides all the information you need to schedule an exam date.

When you purchase your exam, please note the date by which you must take the exam. Each exam is assigned to you for a specific period of time (90 days), and the exam must be taken within the allotted time.




I have not yet received my exam voucher.

If you purchased your exam from our Pivotal Academy website, you should receive your proof of purchase and exam registration instructions within an hour. If you do not, please send a message to education@pivotal.io.

If you took a Pivotal Training course that included included one (1) free exam attempt, please allow 2-3 weeks after the course ends to receive your exam access instructions. Please contact education@pivotal.io if you have been waiting longer than 3 weeks for your exam access, and include the course name, course date, and course location in your message.




I have not yet received my exam certificate.

You should receive an electronic copy of your certificate within one week of passing the certification exam. If you have not received your voucher after one week, please contact education@pivotal.io. Please include the name and email address you used to register for the exam, the name of the exam, and the date you completed the exam in your email.




What happens after I purchase an exam voucher or e-credit?

You will receive a confirmation email with instructions for accessing your exam within a few hours. Please look for an email with the subject line, "Pivotal Academy: Exam Enrollment." If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam folder.




How can I replace an expired voucher?

Exam vouchers and eCredits are assigned to each candidate with a specific expiration date. Each voucher and eCredit must be used prior to this date. Exam expiration dates will not be extended, and expired vouchers and eCredits will not be replaced. Exam vouchers and eCredits that are not redeemed prior to the expiration date will be forfeited.




What happens if I miss my exam?

Failure to attend an exam or arrive at the designated start time will result in forfeiting the exam session and fee.




What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

Each exam voucher or eCredit is good for one exam attempt. If you do not pass the exam the first time, please visit our Pivotal Academy store to purchase a new exam. Please keep in mind that the best way to prepare for our exams is to attend the related training course. If you require additional training, please visit pivotal.io/training or contact education@pivotal.io for more information.




Pivotal Academy

I have not yet received my Pivotal Academy account activation email.

Please check your spam folder. Sometimes, the activation email gets sent there. If you do not see your activation email in your inbox or spam folder, please send a message to education@pivotal.io.




How can I change my password?

Please click Forgot Password on the login screen to change your password. Once you make the changes, you should receive an activation email. If you don't see the email in your inbox, please check the spam folder. Sometimes, the activation gets sent there.




The course content isn't loading properly.

Please try viewing the content in a different browser. If you continue to have trouble after changing browsers, please send a message to education@pivotal.io.
