Vice President, Head of Corporate Development
Jason Hurst is the Vice President, Head of Corporate Development of Pivotal.
Jason serves as our Vice President, Head of Corporate Development, and is responsible for our most strategic initiatives and complex projects, including M&A and investments.
Prior to joining Pivotal, Jason helped lead and execute M&A at VMware from 2010 thru his final project—helping Rob Mee, Paul Maritz, Bill Cook, and Scott Yara navigate the process of establishing Pivotal. Together with Leo Spiegel, he was a member of the 3-person project management office that led planning and execution to launch Pivotal.
Prior to VMware, Jason worked as a technology investment banker for nearly a decade at Citi/Salomon Smith Barney—advising on and executing hundreds of client projects and deals including VMware’s IPO. Prior to Citi, Jason worked in Andersen’s High Tech Valuation Consulting practice.
Jason earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Japanese from BYU. He then earned with honors a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
