Vice President, Head of Corporate Development
Jason Hurst is Pivotal’s Vice President and Head of Corporate Development.
In this role, Jason leads and contributes to the company’s most strategic initiatives and complex projects, including M&A and investments.
Prior to Pivotal, Jason helped lead and execute M&A at VMware from 2010 thru his final project—helping Paul Maritz, Rob Mee, Bill Cook, and Scott Yara navigate the process of establishing Pivotal. Together with Leo Spiegel, he was a member of the 3-person project management office that led planning and execution of Pivotal’s launch.
Prior to VMware, Jason worked as a technology investment banker for nearly a decade at Citi/Salomon Smith Barney—advising on hundreds of client projects and deals including VMware’s IPO. Prior to Citi, Jason worked in Andersen’s High Tech Valuation Consulting practice.
Jason graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Japanese. He then graduated with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
