Option to broker a connection to a service running external to Pivotal Platform.
Option to create and destroy the service instance on demand as required.
The service is documented with instructions for setup and operation.
Encryption at rest. Stored data is encrypted.
Encryption in motion. Data transmitted between app and service are encrypted.
Supports high availability against internal service failures to minimize downtime for bound applications.
Get visibility into details of service operation through standard monitoring and logging tools for products and Pivotal Platform.
Quotas. Operators can place limits on service instance counts.
Option to consume app logs and metrics from the Loggregator firehose.
Option to consume platform component metrics from the Loggregator firehose.
Option to consume BOSH health metrics via bosh-addon.
The nozzle is deployed as an app running on Pivotal Platform.
The nozzle is documented with instructions for setup and operation.
The nozzle adds org, space, and app names to app logs and metrics.
The nozzle caches org, space, and app names from metadata for performance.
The nozzle consumes data from the Loggregator firehose and forwards it to other applications and services via an encrypted channel.
The nozzle supports high availability against internal service failures to minimize event loss.
“Wavefront by VMware helps Pivotal Platform operators, DevOps teams, and developers get metrics-driven insights into the real-time performance of their custom code, Pivotal Platform platform and its underlying components. Wavefront proactively detects and alerts on production issues and improves agility in code releases.”

Wavefront Analytics for Pivotal Platform is a full-featured integration enabling you to monitor your Pivotal Platform environment and applications running in Pivotal Platform. The Wavefront Analytics for Pivotal Platform integration includes a Wavefront Nozzle for Pivotal Platform tile (available on the Pivotal Network), and many pre-defined Wavefront dashboards that provide visibility into the performance Pivotal Platform as well as applications running within Pivotal Platform.
The Wavefront Nozzle for Pivotal Platform tile includes three components:
- A Wavefront Nozzle that retrieves metrics about your Pivotal Platform deployment from the Loggregator Firehose and CF BOSH Health Monitor and sends them to Wavefront.
- A Wavefront Proxy that sends metrics to Wavefront in a secure, fast and reliable manner.
- A Wavefront Service Broker for Pivotal Platform that enables developers to send their app metrics to Wavefront.
The Wavefront Service Broker for Pivotal Platform exposes service plans so Operators can allow developers to create service plan instances using Pivotal Platform Apps Manager or the Cloud Foundry Command Line Interface (cf CLI), and bind them to their apps. Creating a Wavefront Proxy for Pivotal Platform service instance and binding it to an app provides the routing information of a Wavefront proxy to the app. This lets developers send app metrics to Wavefront through the proxy.
