The WSO2 API Manager deployment on Pivotal Platform is deployed as a CF BOSH managed service. Once the tile is installed, a fully distributed WSO2 API Manager deployment is provisioned where the API manager components (Gateway, Key Manager, Publisher and Developer Portal) are deployed as separate BOSH VMs. The API gateway and Key Manager components can be scaled independently based on the requirement.
Native CF BOSH components are leveraged to produce a fully configured deployment of WSO2 API Manager with Analytics, complete with automated health checks. Operational tasks such as scaling the deployment and applying updates are simplified by the use of CF BOSH. Native Pivotal Platform components such as the router service are used to expose the API gateway, publisher and developer portal.
The Operators can also configure the WSO2 Microgateway Buildpack for Pivotal Platform, which enables the microgateway capabilities on Pivotal Platform. The microgateway capabilities can be used to deploy a lightweight edge gateway that is highly scalable. The microgateway is deployed as a CF app, so the app developers can deploy and manage their own edge gateway themselves.
