A standard Cloud Foundry service broker allows Pivotal Cloud Foundry apps to easily bind to and consume services from Pivotal Apps Manager or from the command line. New Relic Service Broker for PCF enables software engineers to use one or more New Relic accounts and is deployed as a Java application on Pivotal Cloud Foundry. The broker exposes the New Relic service on the marketplace and allows users to directly create service instances and bind them to their applications either from Pivotal Apps Manager or from the command line.
The New Relic Service Broker for PCF tile installs the New Relic Service Broker as an app, registers it as a service broker on Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and exposes its service plans on the marketplace. This makes the installation and subsequent use of New Relic on Pivotal Cloud Foundry applications more straightforward.
In addition, New Relic, in combination with partner Blue Medora, offers a fully supported PCF Nozzle that sends Pivotal Cloud Foundry data into a set of pre-built dashboards for operations teams who want to monitor the Pivotal Cloud Foundry platform itself. Data is also sent to New Relic Insights where operators can query, analyze, and alert on over 425 Pivotal Cloud Foundry performance metrics.
