Pivotal will open a new office in Chicago focused on agile development, design and product management practices, mobile and web application development and enterprise innovation.
The opening of the Chicago office is part of Pivotal’s plan to expand its operations in the US to serve the growing appetite for its products and services, which give enterprises new ways to create value through modern application development.
An opening celebration and exclusive event will showcase Pivotal Cloud Foundry, the industry's leading enterprise open cloud platform powered by Cloud Foundry® – a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution that enables enterprises to build and deploy modern applications faster, at-scale and on the cloud of their choice.
Chicago, Ill., January 29, 2015 – Pivotal®, the company at the intersection of big data, cloud and agile development, today announced the opening of its new office in Chicago, Illinois, to better meet the needs of clients seeking the latest best practices in modern software development and building ‘consumer-grade’ applications.
Pivotal Labs®, the agile development services unit of Pivotal, brings agile development practices, Lean Startup techniques, mobile and web application development, and innovation to enterprises and start-ups – enabling them to build technologies that change the way businesses operate and innovate. Pivotal is committed to success in Chicago and the Midwest as it focuses on local business development and providing in-person support and collaboration for its expanding customer roster.
Part of that commitment includes offering qualified members of more than 200 local start-ups (from the 1871 community) one year of free access to Pivotal Tracker, Pivotal’s award-winning project management tool. Pivotal Tracker makes it easier for teams to adopt and maintain an agile process by simplifying collaboration and managing priorities. It enables start-ups to manage backlogs in a clean and simple way, and integrates well with many apps from GitHub to Google. Details of the offering will be disclosed in the near future.
The new office is located in the historic Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago and boasts the unique Pivotal Labs culture developed around agile methods and Pivotal’s distinctive pair programming practices. Pivotal plans to hire developers and engineers from the rich pool of graduates coming out of top-tier local universities and offers developers competitive, six-figure salaries.
